In this subject, students will critically examine the impact of the physical (built and natural) environments on occupational possibilities, performance and participation within the home and community. Students will engage with key theories and models relevant to both universal design and person-focussed adaptation of physical environments. They will then apply this knowledge to the assessment of physical environments and the co-design of appropriate environmental adaptations to promote meaningful occupational engagement.

Examine and apply assessment and information gathering processes relevant to the physical environment as needed to support high quality clinical reasoning. 

Critically analyse how the physical environment influences occupational possibilities, participation and performance. 

Examine and apply practical strategies for the adaptation of physical environments to promote occupational opportunities, participation and performance for individuals and communities.
