This is a series of submissions consisting of individual and group work that you will submit in five progressive parts throughout the trimester. The submissions will be assessed on technical content and neatness.

This an invigilated 10 min Oral presentation on your work carried out in the preceding week.

This is an invigilated exam, three hours in duration, where you cannot ask for assistance or confer with other students. You can bring in any material from lectures, tutorials and practicals covered during the trimester, including your design folder. You may also bring annotated series of Australian Standards.

Civil engineering design of steel and concrete structures. Application of Australian Standards and Codes of Practice in the design of structures. In this subject you will design a basic steel frame structure including cladding and fixings, and the concrete footings and slab, using a range of Australian standards and documents and software used widely used by Industry. You will carry out individual tasks as part of a group to design the building with specified parameters. Review your design to International codes and standards.
