This subject explores the relationships between the various levels of government: freedoms under the Constitution; parliament, judiciary and the separation of powers; taxation and excise duties; Australia's relationship with other countries; the commercial powers.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this subject, graduates will be able to:

An awareness of the significance of the Constitution to legal practice and in everyday life
2.
Develop an ability to critically appraise political institutions, and acquire an informed view of the role of law in government

Develop the ability to research and analyse primary and secondary sources
