<p>This subject offers an introduction to the languages and cultures of Australia&#39;s Pacific Francophone island neighbours. It encourages students to develop Pacific-mindedness as they use a range of authentic learning resources to explore the islands of New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Wallis &amp; Futuna and French Polynesia. All students completing this subject will also achieve basic proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening in French. This subject assumes no prior knowledge of the language and is therefore intended for students who are beginners or near-beginners in the language. This course is suitable for any student wishing to obtain some second language skills and intercultural competence.</p>
