Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this subject, graduates will be able to:
1.
Demonstrate advanced and integrated theoretical and professional knowledge and understanding of career theorists, career education, and career development, including intercultural aspects, leisure activities, career interruption, unemployment and retirement
2.
Apply critical thinking demonstrating an understanding of contemporary issues related to local, national and global aspects relevant to guidance and counselling and career guidance in alignment with the Career Industry Council of Australia Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Counsellors
3.
Critically review, analyse and synthesise theoretical propositions and contemporary professional practice related to local, national and global aspects relevant to career guidance
4.
Interpret, evaluate, generate and justify complex ideas, conclusions and professional decisions to specialist and non-specialist stakeholders, using advanced speaking, reading, writing, listening, technological / digital, numeracy and advocacy skills
5.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and sophisticated problem-solving skills when identifying, theorising and designing solutions to a range of career development and guidance and counselling contexts with a level of specialised knowledge and adaptability
