Upon completion of this subject, graduates will be able to:

Apply a developmental understanding of teacher professional knowledge, practice and engagement in diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educational contexts
2.
Critically analyse, reflect on and synthesise complex information, problems, concepts, theories and recent developments in the field of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education
3.
Design and evaluate effective learning opportunities that consider the impact of culture, cultural identity and linguistic background on the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
4.
Establish personal and professional accountabilities for incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and languages in classroom practice and the wider school community
5.
Critically examine school practices and organisational environments to ensure the development of pedagogical approaches that support high levels of expectation and achievement by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
6.
Describe a range of strategies for involving parents/carers and their community in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students' education, and working with them in effective, sensitive and confidential ways
