Structure

The Accounting Major for this course is jointly accredited by CPA Australia and the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). Students who complete the accredited award may join either or both of the professional accounting bodies (CPA Australia, and/or the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand). To become full members of the accounting profession and practise as an accountant, they must then complete the professional programs of whichever body they join and undertake the required number of years of professional experience. 

The Financial Advising Major was approved on the 1st of July 2022 as noted in the Corporations (Relevant Providers Degrees, Qualifications and Courses Standard) Amendment Determination 2022 legislative document here: https://www.legislation.gov.au
Students must pass the financial adviser exam to comply with the professional standards and complete a professional year before they are fully qualified.
