Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
1.
Conduct an appropriate consultation and/or medical history, physical examination, and order and interpret appropriate pathology and investigations, to develop a working diagnosis within scope or refer out-of-scope patient presentations.
2.
Identify, evaluate, and apply established evidence and approved clinical protocols in the provision of care and education listed within a Pharmacists expanding scope of practice
3.
Systematically plan safe, collaborative, effective, client centred, clinical care and self-management education for conditions within the identified scope of the Pharmacist
4.
Apply principles of accountable prescribing to the provision of integrated safe, accountable, and culturally sensitive patient care, utilizing a collaborative approach with patients, their carers, and other healthcare professionals, underpinned by the biopsychosocial model of medical assessment
5.
Document and communicate treatment options, agreed plan, and monitored progress with patient, carers, and patients’ other health care provider.
6.
Reflect on current skills, knowledge and attitudes, and plan ongoing professional development.

Credit
Students may apply for a credit transfer for previous tertiary study or informal and non-formal learning in accordance with the Credit Transfer Procedure.
Credit Expiry & Other Restrictions
Credit gained for any subject shall be cancelled 4 years after the date of the examination upon which the credit is based if, by then, the student has not completed this course.
Maximum Credit Allowed & Currency
Up to 6 credit points from another accredited or approved program or where a student transfers from one JCU award to another, then credit may be granted for more than two-thirds of the new award, where there is subject equivalence between the awards.
