Structure

This course is accredited by Engineers Australia. The recently introduced Electrical and Electronic major at the Cairns campus currently holds provisional accreditation until the first cohort of students graduates, at which time JCU is eligible to apply for full accreditation for that program.

Graduates are immediately eligible for graduate membership of Engineers Australia. After a period of professional practice, a graduate may apply to become a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and register under state-based schemes such as Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). Accreditation also entitles graduates to have their qualifications recognised in countries that are signatories of the Washington Accord, and after a period of professional practice, apply for professional registration in those countries.
