Currently available to international students only on the Cairns, Singapore and Townsville Campus Majors available on the Singapore Campus: - Business Studies Major - Information Technology Major - Psychological Science Major

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
1.
Integrate and apply theoretical and technical knowledge and concepts, with depth in some areas, in a discipline or broad field of learning
2.
Identify, analyse, synthesise and evaluate information, claims and evidence from a range of sources
3.
Communicate ideas, arguments and perspectives in a clear and logical way through English language proficiency and a range of media and technologies
4.
Analyse, plan, design and evaluate solutions to problems by applying creativity, initiative and judgment and, where appropriate, numeracy skills
5.
Demonstrate autonomy and responsibility in learning independently and managing personal development and future pathways
6.
Apply knowledge of diversity and interpersonal and/or intercultural skills to work effectively in teams to complete a range of activities within broad parameters.

Structure

Students who complete this course are eligible to apply for entry into JCU bachelor degrees.Successful Diploma students may be granted credit for subjects successfully completed under this course towards a Bachelor degree.

Not all majors are available at all campuses

Other than with the approval of the Academic Head, Pathways or authorised delegate, Diploma of Higher Education students majoring in Health, Business Studies, Society and Culture, Information Technology or General Studies must enrol in the two core subjects either prior to or concurrently with other Diploma subjects.

Credit

Students may apply for a credit transfer for previous tertiary study or informal and non-formal learning in accordance with the Credit Transfer Procedure.

Credit Expiry & Other Restrictions

Credit gained for any subject shall be cancelled 10 years after the date of the examination upon which the credit is based if, by then, the student has not completed this course.

Maximum Credit Allowed & Currency

12 credit points - Credit will be granted only for studies completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.
