Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
1.
Critically analyse complex tourism and hospitality-related knowledge and practice from both historical and recent perspectives
2.
Evaluate contexts within which differing sustainable tourism and hospitality performance methods should be integrated and applied
3.
Evaluate sustainable economic, social and environmenta l practices and value systems from different disciplinary perspectives
4.
Research and apply established concepts to solve tourism and hospitality and professional practice problems
5.
Critically analyse complex contemporary tourism and hospitality issues using appropriate models and make reasoned recommendations based on multidisciplinary synthesis of theory and evidence
6.
Apply creative thinking effectively to tourism and hospitality theory and practice
7.
Present complex tourism and hospitality analyses and information appropriately to differing audiences using effective oral presentation skills and clear and fluent written communication
8.
Work effectively in achieving common goals, demonstrating both collaboration and leadership
9.
Adapt tourism and hospitality constructs and skills to novel theoretical or practical situations
10.
Exercise independent judgment and initiative in solving differing tourism and hospitality problems

Credit

Students may apply for a credit transfer for previous tertiary study or informal and non-formal learning in accordance with the Credit Transfer Procedure.

Credit Expiry & Other Restrictions

Credit gained for any subject shall be cancelled 9 years after the date of the examination upon which the credit is based if, by then, the student has not completed the course of study prescribed for the degree.
